MARY ANN TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING 14 NOVEMBER 7:00 PM
MARY ANN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
REGULAR MEETING 14 NOVEMBER 7:00 PM
Pledge of Allegiance was given by all those present.
Roll Call: Chairman of Trustees, Tom Bodle “here”;
Trustees: Rodney Lothes, “here”, Gary Nethers “here”
Fiscal Officer Beth Bodle, “here”
Financial Report: Each Trustee was given copy of Payment Register with a total of $44,476.98, Receipt Register with total of $44,328.29 and Fund Status which reflects a balance of $291,803.53, current bills considered.
Gary Nethers made a resolution to move amounts within respective funds as listed on Supplemental Appropriations Registry, 2nd by Tom Bodle, all three Trustees voted “Aye”.
Fiscal Officer, Beth Bodle read the Minutes of October 10th Regular Meeting, motion to approve minutes made by Rodney Lothes, 2nd by Tom Bodle, all three trustees voted “Aye”. Also read minutes of Special Meeting, November 3rd motion to approve by Tom Bodle, 2nd by Rodney Lothes, all three trustees voted “Aye”.
Fire Dept:
Chief Kelly, advised the he, Rodney Lothes and Ken Hall from Eden Township attended meeting with Eric Fox and Austin Leckider of the Prosecutor’s office regarding the fire & EMS contract. EMS billing is the problem with the contract. Since only part of the residents of Eden Towsnhip aren’t billed since part of Eden is covered by Newton Fire Dept, they aren’t charged for EMS runs. Eden has talked about increasing the dollar amount of contract to cover the difference on EMS billing that is done. However, to do this they would have to put on a levy to cover that. Right now $18,000 this year has been billed to Eden township residents. If we could get Jim Glover, fire chief for Newton Fire Dept. to bill for their EMS runs we wouldn’t have a problem. As it is now Newton would lose supplies from hospital. Gary Nethers – are we currently collecting all that is due now? Kelly – we are good until the end of the year. Township could bill all the residents themselves (like we bill through Medbill) and then send us the money due us for our runs to Eden Township. Gary Nethers – May have to have a public meeting with residents of Eden Township to explain the soft billing. Rodney Lothes – if nothing is done by December on contract think we need to call Ken Oswalt and have a meeting with all of us. Beth Bodle – we still need to have Eden trustees sign the temporary contract. Gary Nethers – we all should attend their meeting on November 28th.
Kelly – regarding helmets we ordered twenty-four, we have 30 volunteers, the volunteers that are EMS/Squad only (ex- Sharon O’Reilly and Linda Peterson) will wear the older helmets since they don’t fight fires.
Reminder Christmas dinner is to be held Friday, December 10, 2011 Chris Farmer to get list ready for checks by end of month.
Both big trucks will be serviced this week.
Visitors:
Les Wolfe - Mary Lou Lowry at the top of hill (Wilkins Run Rd) check out their culvert, it is mashed on both ends, you may even have to lengthen it. I am glad you bought the land for the cemetery. Moon would like for you to leave trees that block his home for privacy. Need to get in touch with Steve (acquaintance of Kerry Banks) that is interested leasing the land to harvest what trees are there and planting more till we are ready to make into cemetery addition to Barnes.
Dalton Lee - Nothing
Bethany & Lance Roshon- Nothing
Laura & Casey Oakleaf – Nothing
Old Business:
Fire/EMS contract – Discussed with Chief above.
New Business:
Beth Bodle will be attending year end meeting in Columbus, December 9th.
Engineer’s luncheon to be held December 9th @ noon at The Place Off the Square,
All three trustees will be attending.
Received notice on class action suit on 1999 Dodge Ram, trustees agreed wouldn’t get
Much from that, attorney will get it all.
Beth Bodle – Can Kerry and Dalton strip the hallway floor and wax it since it will be raining tomorrow. They can rent equipment at Sunbelt or Paisley I believe. All three trustees said do it. Kelly – Been wanting to ask if we could go together and buy a buffer for fire depart and complex. Check on prices.
