MARY ANN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING 10 OCTOBER 2011 7:00 PM

Pledge of Allegiance was given by all those present.  Meeting called to order by Chairman, Tom Bodle.

Roll Call: Chairman of Trustees, Tom Bodle “here”;

          Trustees:  Rodney Lothes“here” Gary Nethers Absent  (arrived @7:40 PM)

           Fiscal Officer, Beth Bodle, “here”

Financial Report:  Each Trustee was given copy of Payment Register with a total of $98,791.55 Receipt Register with total of $22,861.16 and Fund Status by Fund which reflects a balance of $294,020.41, current bills considered.  

Tom Bodle made a resolution to move amounts within respective funds as listed on Supplemental Appropriations Registry, 2nd by Rodney Lothes, both  Trustees voted “Aye”.

Fiscal Officer, Beth Bodle read the Minutes of September 12th Regular

Meeting. Motion to approve minutes made by Tom Bodle 2nd by Rodney Lothes, bothTrustees voted “Aye”.   Minutes for Special Meeting, held October 4, 2011 were read; Rodney Lothes made motion to approve minutes and 2nd by Tom Bodle, both Trustees voted “Aye”.

Fire Dept: 

Randy Miner reports for Fire Dept.  Jesse Myers passed Fire class and Tom Morrison attending EMT class. 

Ladder test are done and all passed.  Hose test next week takes a week to two weeks to complete.

Kelly asked Beth to make an extra payment on fire truck.  

Kelly, trustees and Eden trustee to see Prosecutors to discuss fire contract.  Rodney Lothes to attend meeting with Kelly and Ken Hall from Eden.

Randy – The Ham & Turkey dinner will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 after the election from 5: - 7:00 P.M..

Licking Memorial – two (2) doctors have agreed to continue medical license program starting the first of 2012.  Current doctor will finish out 2011.   One doctor will have five (5) townships and other doctor will have four (4) townships.

Libby Teter – Why charges for squad runs?  Randy – Fire Station is now staffed.  Libby Teter – since when?  Randy August 2005.  Insurance companies charge you for runs even if you don’t use.  If don’t pay billing company comes back for secondary insurance.  A lot of runs are Medicare/Medicaid.  Randy explained soft billing vs hard billing.

Kelly has budgeted for new helmets – 1997 was last year purchased need to replace every ten years per NFPA (governing body)  Les Wolfe said helmets will breakdown.  Clyde Antony what breaks down?   Randy - Fiberglass shield.  Libby Teter – Kind of like OSHA?  Randy Yes.  Clyde Antony – You are talking about all gear?  Randy – Yes – Boots run $130-$150 – Helmets $245 – Whole Unit $2700 Coat & pants are most expensive.  Randy we got three estimates – Weakly $205 + shield $40 – Findlay $245 – Fire Store $254 – going with Weakly.  Bob Hardin advised when department first started they had a plastic helmet, raincoat with liner, we’ve come a long way.  Rodney Lothes made motion to purchase 24 helmets, Tom Bodle 2nd motion, both Trustees “Aye”


Visitors: 

Les Wolfe – Gave Beth copy of new cemetery map & names for Barnes -  Section 1.  Very pleased with what scouts have done.  Matt Arnott organized event for his Eagle Scout badge.

Tom Bodle – Wonder why Matt isn’t here tonight.  Les – He father is being deployed , he is in Georgia and leaves on 10-11-11.  Tom Bodle the fence looks great!!!

Bob Hardin – Here – Rodney – How is road?  - Bob – Great!  Boy Scouts from Columbus (771 people) were at Scout Camp last week.  Need work done on Houdeschell – Apple Butter Days will be in November and camp booked all winter.

Libby Teter – Here on going issue – When road was done why wasn’t an apron put in?  Just had a couple loads of grindings (15 Tons) then rain washed out?  Can’t afford to keep this up.  Need apron put in by township – ruining cars.  Rodney Lothes – No easy fix, part of the problem is the pitch.   Rodney Lothes – We are hoping to patch Montgomery Road soon.  Will check out.  Libby – I would be willing to pay part of expense.  Also, what is the rule on getting rid or burning brush?  Rodney – We have no right to burn.  Ditch line is a far as we can go. Libby - Neighbor Dennis Dunnaway won’t trim bushes/trees and hard to see traffic.

Duane Bebout – Mentioned a month ago small holes in road – now they are bigger, please fix before winter.  Tom – We are working on it.  Rodney – we are running out of warm weather. 

Clyde Anthony – Let’s talk about black top --  I know you can’t afford it. 


Old Business: 
Beth – Reminding you of our Fall County Meeting @ Ellas Park – Tom Bodle,  Beth Bodle, and Rodney Lothes will be attending, we need to meet here @ 5:30 PM.

Revisited Fire/EMS contract with Eden Township – Randy we need a temporary contract- We have no contract at this time. Gary Nethers made motion to sign temporary contract – good till end of December 2011.  Libby Teter – Where does the class 10 go to?    Randy we go to Muskingum County Line – Five miles from station is a class 9.  Rating has to do with water supply.

Steve Layman dropped off paperwork to Erin Tschanen, she is going on vacation and we’ll complete paperwork upon her return.

New Truck – Trustees signed a letter of intent for Tim Weilbacher of Coughlin Ford.  Also, PNB sent us an e-mail with pre-approval.  Faxed to Tim on Tuesday.    Tim had advised that lead time on truck will be 16 weeks; he had received an advisory from Ford.

Cab & chassis should be done in January then two (2) to three (3) weeks for completition.  High demand for F550 dump truck. 

Foundation was poured for Robert & Beverly Ridenbaugh. 

Smokey Row project has been completed.


New Business:    

Received letter from Lightle Enterprises of Ohio, LLC 

Need to fix water truck – motor not heavy enough for load.

Libby Teter – Clayton King has truck – Rodney Lothes – He has semi’s.

Correspondence was read by Fiscal Officer, Beth Bodle. 

Gary Nethers made motion to order fiscal officer to pay bills as stated on Payment Register, Rodney Lothes 2nd motion, all Trustees voted “Aye”.

 Motion to adjourn by Rodney Lothes, 2nd by Gary Nethers, all three Trustees voted “Aye”
